The Beginning

Syltography was born out of the 2019 Shambhala Music Festival. My passion for photography was ignited by the experience of capturing authentic moments with festival goers and the exchange of showing and sharing that work. By the third day, I knew it was how I wanted to spend my time. I even used images I had taken the previous day in an application to shoot the Invermere Music Festival the following weekend.

Since that point it has been a relentless pursuit to engage with the art, looking for live events, sports and concerts to capture. I am constantly seeking new opportunities as well as creating them. My passion, engagement, and motivations have never faltered. I constantly strive to improve through imposing creative limitations, engaging different projects, experimenting as it is my dream to be a full time event, concert, sports and portrait photographer.

I started in Cranbrook, BC where you can find much of my work with local concerts and sports published by the Kimberley Bulletin, The Cranbrook Townsman, East-Kootenay News Online Weekly, and the KIJHL. I have since moved to Kamloops in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic where I have focused mostly on portraiture.

Thank you so much for being a part of this journey.

Below is the very first photo I took at the music festival, and what I would consider to be the first photo of Syltography.
